I don't even know where to start with this review. I am a serious F1 Fan, and I have been following F1 since I first saw Gilles Villeneuve and Elio de Angelis drive at Long Beach in the early 80’s. I have seen GPs in England, Belgium, France, COTA, and Montreal (9 times). The 1967 Gurney Eagle F1 car is my favorite car of all time! I bought this model, and the Ferrari 312T3 (I know these are not licensed models, but they are what they are) at the same time, and they are very inexpensive. But, Lego/Nifeliz does not make any vintage F1 cars so I was so happy to see these models. I bought them in an instant. I have been building a lot of Lego models in the last 6 months, and it’s a good thing. This model was very challenging to build. I want to say to anyone that has a passion for vintage F1 cars, that this is worth every minute of your time, but you better have some time. It took me 8 days to build this model (probably about 60 hours). I spent 11 days building the Nifeliz McLaren P1, which has a lot more pieces (3400 or so), but this was much more challenging. The real problem is that the instructions are not clear as to the color of the parts. If the colors were more clear, it would have taken me ½ the time. But, it is what it is. Having said that, getting past the problems of interpreting the instructions, you have to know how to build Lego to build this model. It is an “expert” level build. If you are up to the challenge, it is absolutely worth the time and effort. This is the 24th model that I have built since I got hooked about 6 months ago, and it is by far, the most rewarding. I said that about the P1 when it was finished (with the adjustable ride height suspension, adjustable active wing, and gull-wing doors), but this model has a fidelity to scale that is at a different level. It is so beautiful, that I can just look at it for 15 minutes at a time, and loose track of time. The details level is incredible. The size of the model is impressive. And, most of all, the color is true to the original and captivating. If you are a true F1 fan, and you have some building expertise, then you will really enjoy the result of this build. It will be the pride of your collection. I don’t want to backtrack, but if you want to build a race car that is an easy build, then get the Lego Technic 42039, which is a much shorter and easier build. That car is also much more costly than this one. This car, if you have the time and patience, is the most AWESOME model that you will ever build. I am really looking forward to building the Wolfbush Ferrari 312T3 (it is not called that, but that is what it is). Please share your experiences!Been building Lego Technic sets for twenty years, this one was far and away the most difficult to complete correctly. Yes, I am aware that this is NOT an actual Lego set. That being said, I couldn't be happier with the finished product as it represents the sort of niche market that Lego cannot represent. The instructions for this set are comprehensive and follow the proven Lego pattern, where they fail is in the details. Where Lego makes color differences crystal clear (a blue piece is EASY to differentiate from a black one) the Chinese set is at time impossible to read. Where a complex assembly is carefully shown from multiple perspectives to ensure a proper build, the Chinese set leaves you scratching your head, or worse, having to disassemble later to fix a misalignment. The end result is worth the aggravation, and a less than half the price to boot. Just be prepared for a few hours of looking at the instructions through a magnifying glassThe photo with this review indicates the level of completion I can achieve without the 61 MISSING PARTS!!? I contacted the seller and they asked me to circle all the missing parts and mail them the catalog. So after considering the level of worthlessness this request represents, I am trying to get them to agree to emailed pictures of all missing parts. The model is a cool design, much darker blue than the seller-supplied photos - more like the customer-supplied photos in other reviews with photos. Mailing the catalog overseas will cost a bit (they offered me six - yes, six! dollars for my trouble). My actual trouble is them asking me to mail a catalog with circled missing parts. Some other company who sells these brick models, I think they are in Europe (sarcasm folks) includes a parts list in the back of their manuals with part numbers - go figure! The issue is currently unresolved but based on their comment in the product description that if there are missing parts, just contact customer service, I’m saying this is highly suspect. If they actually resolve this issue without me spending any more money and very little time, I will edit the review. Oh yeah, the actual build is kind of poorly engineered. Very complex subassemblies that are ultimately very difficult to match up and attach. All of the regular bricks in this model make it much more delicate than a Lego Technics design and the fit of the bricks indicate low quality Lego copies (all legal I’m assuming). Don’t buy it unless you have a lot of patience, money or a desire to be disappointed. Amazon should vet these types of sellers more carefully. One star because no stars was not an option.A full refund was issued. They ended up sending me some parts plus a full refund. It looks great with my other F1 models. I wish it hadn’t been such a quest to finish building it.This was truly the most fun build that I have ever done. Challenging? Yes, very. But the feeling of accomplishment was the greatest I have ever experienced upon the completion of a Lego project. There were NO missing pieces. And the parts were bagged much more logically than I expected. I really enjoyed the fact that the instructions did not baby you through the process. If you really understand Legos and are willing to use your brain a little more than usual the instructions will never piss you off or frustrate you. I found myself smiling as I put pieces together in ways that I have never done before. I don’t have enough good things to say about this MOC. I have built many many Lego projects over the years and I must say this one was the most fun, challenging, and gratifying.One issue is that a few of the assembly areas are hard to keep together. The hoses are tough, and the way some parts are meant to stick together, they fall off when handled. I'm 90% done and it's just getting frustratingIt was a lot bigger than I expected, but it was a cool experience going through the steps and the level of detail this set has is incredible. All around it was tricky at certain steps, but it was still cool building it
