This game is so much fun for many ages. We have a number of kids in the family ranging from 6-18 and they all had a blast playing this last X-mas eve. I got one for each of the kids. Even if the younger ones don't want to do the game, the powerful magnets are really fun to goof with and way too large to be a swallowing hazard if they drop into food or something. (Obviously, do not give this to really young'uns tho!) The mats are a little more flimsy than I would like, but I suspect that is for portability sake. They have held up well so far and we play the game once or twice a month at least. It is a game you can play with your kids and actually ENJOY too. No goofy spinners, no dice to lose (the magnets will put themselves away if they are close enough together, HA!), and everything zips into a nice pouch that can slip into a drawer, glovebox, or mid-sized purse. SO nice. You don't have to play it on the mats it comes with either. We have played it on foam place mats, a decorative rug, even on a painted table. The more creative one is with the board it is laid out on, the funner it is. Very cool game and a good value too.Yikerz is a terrific dexterity game that provides loads of fun frustration. The premise is simple: lay out the four triangular mats in just about any configuration you can think of (the instruction sheet provides suggestions, as well as estimates of their difficulty as a guide), split the included super-strong, uniquely-shaped magnets amongst the players, then take turns placing a single magnet in any orientation anywhere on the mats. If magnets are pushed or fall off the mats, or collapse together, the active player takes them. First player to successfully place their last magnet wins. This game is accessible for most ages (be careful with small children--the magnets are strong!). The game seems easy at first, but as the mats fill with magnets, you can see them move as you bring your piece in...and often near the end, you think you're doing well only to hear snap!snap!snap! as a pile of magnets collapse together on your turn. The game is nicely portable in its own carry case, so it's easy to bring along, set up, teach, and play. This is a fun game. The idea is great, the flexibility of it is great. You can rearrange the four rubber bottomed triangle board pieces into any configuration (ideas & difficulty level provided in the instructions). You can also play with a wide range of ages. We played with our 4 & 6 year olds. They were able to get the hang of it quickly after a couple of practice rounds. Our issue was that it needed more magnetic stones. When one of the kids got "Yikerzed" (all the stones collected and got stuck together), everyone felt like the came was over because the other players had so few stones. There was no more challenge and no way that the player with all the stones would ever be able to get rid of them. We bought extra magnetic tumbled hematite stones to amp up the challenge and give everyone a chance to get rid of the stones. There was no predictable winner in the end. Before we got the extra stones, everyone enjoyed it better (more of a challenge) when we used only 2 triangle boards. This game is a practical way to learn about magnetism and the pull and push effects of it. It is also a fun, hands-on game that engaged my 7yo who prefers movement oriented games. There are so many different ways of setting up the board mats that I can see this being a game that constantly has new challenges. Although the game says it is for 14+, I got this to play with my 10 and 7yo-both of whom enjoyed it quite a bit! By the 3rd round, my 7yo was beginning to get some of the techniques involved to keep her piece safer from the magnetism of the other pieces. A game lasts at most 5-10 minutes... so, it's a quick game for short attention spans as well. This is a lot of fun to play. As shown in the video, the object is to get rid of your magnets. What the video doesn't show is how easily placing a magnet can move a nearby magnet. That's the challenge. We will use this mainly when camping, so the small size works out great. The only negatives I see are that the board is made of neoprene with a fabric covering. I think that eventually the covering will peel off. The other negative is that using the 4 sections of the board make it fairly easy to place all the magnets. The solution is to just use 3 sections.Well worth the price. It does have small magnets, so anyone with kids that put things in their mouths should avoid this.I love this game. We played it on a camping trip in August, and started looking for it in stores when we got home. Now that we have our own Yikerz we bring it to parties, even to work, and everyone is immediately fascinated. This is a simple concept elegantly executed and nicely packaged. You can carry it in a pocket or purse, and all you need to play is about one square foot of horizontal surface area. The size of the triangles and strength of the magnets are perfectly matched. The game itself teaches you how to play it. You don't need much time, or even much light, so its perfect for camping. I would recommend ordering at least two sets. This game is a lot of fun for kids and adults. It is a magnet based game that requires strategy. The whole point of this game is to set up magnets without attracting others, while still placing them in such a way that the next player to go will likely make them attract. It does get much more difficult towards the end, and I don't recommend playing it on the couch (if pieces fall down they stick inside). I don't recommend it for younger children because the pieces are small enough to swallow, and it is important not to lose pieces - it comes with a nifty bag to keep them together. It's a good game when you're looking for something that is challenging, yet quick and simple in concept. This is a very fun yet simple game that I love playing with my kids. They love when the magnets snap together. I bought two sets so I could have even more game board configurations and include more players. Please be careful when young children are present. Make sure to account for every piece as they can be dangerous and even deadly if swallowed.Unfortunately this product was discontinued I think, due to hazards of little kids eating magnets. Given that I don't have small children, I bought it anyways and it is loads of fun! My husband and teen kids and I have had a lot of laughs, playing it at the cottage. I love that the games don't take super long and yet are highly entertaining for all of us.This is a very cool game. I played it with my 9 year old (dont tell the cops... this is 14+) and he won quite a few games. The shapes can be re-arranged to add some challenge so it is versatile enoughThis game is very fun to play. Easy directions to follow. A fun family game for all ages. Provides different levels of strategy from easy to challenging. Very portable too. This is a compact game that can be played on any flat surface
